Allison Ross
Verbal Team Manager
Ali is an attorney, published author, and grammar aficionado. After four years of private practice as a litigator, Ali joined the AR team to coach students to reading and writing mastery. Ali specializes in standardized exams, including the ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE, and she also tutors law students in all 1L classes, including torts, contracts, civil procedure, and legal writing.
She earned her J.D. from USC Gould School of Law in 2014 and received multiple High Honors awards for earning the highest grade in her classes, including Civil Procedure and Legal Writing. She graduated at the top of her class and passed the California Bar Exam on her first attempt. In 2009, she graduated with honors from Vassar College, where she majored in Women’s Studies and sang opera, performing at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. In high school, Ali scored in the 99th percentile of test-takers nationwide on the verbal sections of both her SAT and ACT and qualified as an AP Scholar with Distinction.
In the same way that she spots issues in a case, she has a knack for homing in on exactly what students need to maximize their test scores. Her warm, easily approachable personality makes sessions enjoyable and engaging, creating an environment where students feel at ease. She wants every student to leave feeling more confident in their test taking skills and, ideally, to discover his or her literary voice in the process.
