Jesse J.

College Counselor

Jesse graduated from Boston College in 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in English with Honors. She minored in Medical Humanities and Philosophy and was also a Creative Writing Concentrator. During her time at BC, she focused on creative nonfiction and poetry. Jesse was the inaugural Poet Laureate of a scientific research institute, the Editor-in-Chief of The Medical Humanities Journal, a leader within BC's Writing Center, and a satirist for the comedy newspaper. Her passion for tutoring writing stems from an interest in encouraging self-expression. Jesse believes that everyone can be a writer, and supports them in discovering their natural voice. She served as a volunteer tutor and the publishing intern at 826 Boston, a non-profit writing center amplifying the diverse voices of K-12 students. She assisted with the publication of several student-authored books. Within BC's Writing Center, Jess engaged in 1-on-1 tutoring sessions with undergraduate peers and graduate students to focus on craft, writing, and editing. She hosted workshops, panels, readings, and tabling events to celebrate writing as a collaborative and fun activity. Jesse is excited to support students through their college journey and bring out the creative writer within them. Outside of AR, Jess loves taking escape rooms way too seriously, curating the perfect karaoke setlist, learning new songs on guitar, and ranking cafes based on their matcha!
