Landon Y.

English/Reading

Landon carries more than four years of experience teaching ACT and SAT English and Reading. His approach has always focused on two key aspects for ACT/SAT success: building a firm understanding of the concepts tested and mastering strategic test-taking to help students ensure they can turn that understanding into their ideal score. Landon also emphasizes an always-listening interpersonal approach in which students can be sure their instructor is constantly attuned to the variety of difficulties that may be hindering their best performance and what the student needs to overcome these, including roadblocks the student themselves may not be aware of.

Besides his experience in ACT/SAT prep, Landon received a BA in Spanish from the University of Washington, Seattle, and his MA in Hispanic Cultural Studies from Columbia University. He is currently a PhD student in the Spanish department at UCI. His bilingual fluency and ongoing study of language and literature not only allow him a deep understanding of the concepts tested in the verbal component of the exams, but they also permit him to understand and address the unique needs of students for whom English may not be their first language.

Outside of academics, Landon enjoys swimming and playing violin. He looks forward to working with you to achieve your ideal score on the ACT or SAT!
