For over 15 years, Michael has served as AR’s premier math and science instructor, coaching thousands of students to their dream scores on the ACT, SAT, AP exams, GRE, GMAT, and more. He is a test taking maven who has earned a perfect 800 on SAT Math and perfect 36s on ACT Math and Science over a dozen times! Don’t be surprised if you see Michael in your room on testing day. He continually takes the SAT and ACT to stay current on what’s being tested, ensuring that AR test prep is as targeted as possible.
Academically, Michael earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from UCI and graduated with honors. He worked with UC Irvine Admissions to identify strong high school candidates to be admitted for STEM majors and led new student orientations to help incoming freshmen succeed in their transition to college.
Michael’s teaching style blends a deep-seated expertise with his easy-going personality. His conversational, interactive approach not only builds his students’ conceptual understanding but also their confidence. He emphasizes a growth mindset to genuinely motivate his students to achieve their potential and build skill sets that will benefit them long after test day. His goal is to inspire every student to think differently about the problem-solving process, trusting in their own abilities and efforts.
In his role as director, Michael oversees both the English/Reading and Math/Science departments, designs AR curricula, and runs school programming. His leadership ensures that the test preparation and academic experience for every student is highly personalized and effective.
