After attending AR Academics as a high school student, Tara is excited to return as an English and Reading tutor. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work and a minor in Music from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy at California State University, Fullerton. Before joining AR, Tara spent six years at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes where she provided one-on-one literacy intervention and directed multiple learning centers. She has helped thousands of students of all ages and diverse learning profiles build the foundational skills needed for reading fluency, comprehension, and academic success. Her teaching style is engaging and personalized, and she strives to help every student feel seen, supported, and confident in their ability to learn. She believes nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student accomplish something they once thought was beyond their reach. When Tara is not working or studying, you can find her searching for her next favorite coffee shop, writing music, exploring local farmers' markets, or spending time with family and friends.
